fFriday, June 24 11:15am-12:30pmJourney WellCynthia Brust Ministry Center
In life’s physical journey and our personal and corporate faith journeys, we face numerous twists and turns, ups and downs, hills and valleys, detours…some of these are simply part of the road we are on, and some we cause, for better or worse. How do we approach the journey? What do we do with the opportunities and roadblocks we inevitably encounter? In this workshop, we will consider a few of the great faith journeys outlined in Scripture and consider how we can learn to journey well, being transformed and empowered by the Holy Spirit to serve under the rule and reign of Christ in His Kingdom work.
Cynthia Brust serves as Director of Communications and Chair of Winter Conference for the Anglican Mission in the Americas. She is also committed to Christian ministry in the local church, especially as it relates to reaching the de-churched and unchurched in today’s culture by living out ancient roots and faith within current contexts. A writer, speaker, teacher and consultant, she has also studied, written and taught extensively on numerous aspects of faith and discipleship over the last 26 years. She is currently pursuing a Master of Arts in Theology from Fuller Seminary. Cynthia and her husband, the Rev. Canon Ellis E. Experience, Observation, and StoryGreg Shore and Grace Beahm Chapel
Part of who we are is determined by our experiences. But experiences that are held tightly lack the power to transform. Experiences should be brought out as a story – not as a fictional piece but as a narrative that points to God and who He is. We’ll spend time exploring our story as part of God’s story and we’ll look at telling the stories that belong to others. We’ll also talk about the three simple questions to answer when developing a credible and compelling narrative.
Greg Shore is the Communications Director for St. Andrew’s Church and has been telling the story of God’s people for 14 years in print, online, and in video. Grace Beahm has been a photojournalist at the Post and Courier for 10 years where telling stories with pictures is her passion.

Shawn is the founding pastor of Sanctuary, an Acts 29 church plant in Charleston, SC. He is also a certified local leader for the Antioch School of Church Planting & Leadership Development.
